You have probably heard about fruits that are genetically modified organisms. There has also been news about the controversy about engineering in the biology field. Questions are also raised, as to whether this method is good for the world to tackle human hunger or is it for increasing the devil. We will put this debate aside and will talk about more basics of bioengineering. Choosing fruits that have more ingredients is a tough decision. Do engineered fruits have more ingredients or no engineered ones?

When scientists alter these genes of the species from the DNA of another species, the existence of the new organism is recognized as a genetically engineered species. This change is done in different living organisms, bacteria, or viruses to get desired traits such as resistance to different diseases or tolerance against pesticides.

When we turn the pages of history we come to know that farmers have been envied for raising plants to achieve the desired type traits such as improved taste yield or disease resistance. Farmers in the past seemed to be involved in genetic engineering but this kind was restricted only to natural processes. The contemporary world has grown so advanced that they engineer the crops’ fruits that have never existed naturally.

 Papaya

Nearly all of the crops of papaya were destroyed by the virus called ringspot in Huaweviian in 1990. After a few years, the Rainbow papaya fruit which was engineered by the scientist proved to be resistant fruit against viruses. In recent times Hawaii is growing 77 percent genetically engineered crops.

 Seedless watermelon

Seed is the method of continuity of the plants but you will be amazed to hear about the seedless watermelon. yes, they will keep their community but not naturally but with bioengineering. Seedless watermelon is a hybrid of different breeds. “mule of the watermelon world.” is the nickname of this watermelon.

Staple food has the highest demand in the world. The world has faced lots of destruction due to climate change which intruded on the shortage of food. Now the world which uses staple food is facing shortages of that and it has no varieties of Genetically modified rice. Genetically modified rice has not been approved for human consumption yet. The Philippines introduced DM rice which is called golden rice. As the world is also facing food insecurity this method of growing crops has been backed by the whole population of the world. This method will help us to reduce nutrient deficiency in the population of developing countries.

Conclusion

every once in the world is not on the same page about the usage of Genetically modified products. This said so keeping the perspective of long-term usage. European countries have made it mandatory for genetically modified crops to be approved for the usage and growth of such crops. It also alarmed scientists that these products can cause allergies in human beings. Other mentions their opinion about environmental factor to keep in mind regarding these modified crops.
